Da perspectiva dos multiletramentos, o ensino de línguas deve centrar-se nas múltiplas maneiras de produzir significado e nos seus efeitos sociais.
Isso significa trabalhar não só a linguagem verbal, mas também a multimodalidade: imagens, sons, gestos, layout e recursos digitais que combinam-se para construir sentido.
O professor orienta alunos a analisar como escolhas comunicativas reforçam identidades, distribuem poder e influenciam práticas sociais. Atividades incluem leitura crítica de campanhas, memes e vídeos e produção multimodal com finalidade real.
Assim, a meta é desenvolver competência técnica e sensibilidade crítica para entender e intervir nos contextos em que os significados são produzidos e têm consequências na sociedade.
